About me
Garland Hokett
I'm passionate about helping believers understand what it truly means to live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit, as described in Galatians 5:25. Through my theological studies at Grand Canyon University's College of Theology, I've developed a deep conviction that authentic Christian discipleship must be rooted in genuine relationship with the Holy Spirit, not merely organizational strategies or human effort.
My journey began when I discovered the significant gap between knowing about the Holy Spirit and actually living in daily dependence on Him. This realization led me to focus my research and teaching on pneumatology—the doctrine of the Holy Spirit—and its practical application in both pastoral ministry and everyday Christian living.
At OneTrue Light, I serve both pastors seeking deeper theological understanding of the Holy Spirit's work and regular Christians hungry for authentic Spirit-led living. My approach bridges academic study with practical discipleship, helping believers move beyond head knowledge to heart transformation.
I believe the decline we see in many churches today stems not from poor organization or outdated methods, but from inadequate discipleship in Spirit-filled living. When believers learn to truly live by the Spirit and keep in step with His leading, both personal spiritual growth and church vitality naturally follow.
