The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.

There are two simultaneous things that happen when we read the bible. There are fundamental truths in the pages that are apparent even in the most cursory reading. The pages of the bible are replete with universal truths that if followed by even the worst of heathen will bring transformation and life in the natural world. But even more, for those who have placed their trust in the Truth of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, there is access to the very heart and mind of God through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit who is able to unfold the truth of the word/Word in a more intimate and expanded way. The word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path(Psalm 119:105) and since we grapple with darkness without and depravity within, the light of the truth of the word of God can bring to our awareness the true nature of our creator and the true purpose for which we were created. The Bible is often overlooked and avoided but indispensable for living the life we have been given and living it to the full. We need not be scholars or intellectuals to be transformed by it, since the truth is revealed to our hearts and not realized through our natural minds. Today, open the Bible and let the Word of God be opened to your heart, soul, and mind. Try opening and reading and see if a clearer vision of the path ahead of you does not manifest itself. See if that which was unseen in your own understanding does not become illuminated in a way you have never seen before!
